The rows are planted at a distance of 2 meters and the space between a vine and another is 90 cm,
with a density of about 4.000 ~ 4.500 plants each hectare. The growing system is Guyot, low type,
with slightly curved shoots bearings six to eight buds.
The soil (sandstone, clayish and in some cases mar1y~clayey ground) is maintained with permanent
natural grass to reduce the washing~away and is controlled by means of grass cutting while the space
between the rows is worked with a cutting machine followed by one or two grass mowing.
The treatments are made with products containing sulphur against oidium and Bordeaux mash (copper and
lime) against grape mildew.
After the blossoming the double shoots are removed and at the end of July a green harvest is made to
remove the exceeding grapes.
The (hand~made) harvest happens at the end of September and the beginning of October.
The grapes are pressed two or three hours after the harvest using a press~grape picker with rubber
rollers to avoid tearing the berries.
